Allowing Many Forms is a studio which appears out of a practice for art making. The studio takes shape in the pockets of the practice, appearing and dissolving. The studio emerges out of the practice to hold, enact, orchestrate, coordinate - and recedes to permit unexpected encounters. It is a space for production, publishing, and design.
The studio rises to meet situations or conditions which are uncovered by the practice and out of relationships with people and spaces. It holds the sensitivities and modes necessary to work with others: as a repository of understandings on how to move in a process. These understandings are steeped in the ways of working which arise out of the practice.
The studio is necessary to engage with certain sites and stakes. It is a space of common ground, within which things can unselfconsciously become. The studio is a way in which the practice comes into direct and ongoing contact. The studio works with material that is moving through a process. The studio seeks connection, closeness, tenderness as a prerequisite for action.
